Spanish star Rafael Nadal of Roland Garro won the French Open Singles title. He defeated World No.1 Serbian star Novak Djokovic in straight sets in the final.
Spanish star Rafael Nadal of Roland Garrow won the French Open Singles title for a record 13th time on Sunday. With this stunning title win, 34-year-old Nadal captured the 20th Grand Slam title, equaling his great rival, 39-year-old Roger Federer.
Rafael Nadal defeated World No.1 Serbian star Novak Djokovic in straight sets 6–0, 6–2, 7–5 in the final. Djokovic could not cross Nadal on red gravel as he landed for the 18th Grand Slam title. This match lasted for 2 hours 41 minutes.
Nadal did not lose a single set this year during the title win in his favorite tournament. This is also the 100th win at the French Open by the world's second-ranked player. He brought the win-loss record to 100-2 at Roland Garro. Nadal's record in the semi-finals and finals of this Grand Slam tournament is 26-0. This is Nadal's fourth consecutive title win in Paris.
The Spaniard has previously won the French Open for four consecutive times between 2005-08 and then for five consecutive times between 2010-14. Apart from this, he has also won the title of US Open four times, Wimbledon twice and Australia Open once.
