The biggest event of World Football is about to start from 20 Nov 2022. Qatar is hosting this edition of FIFA World Cup. There were boycott trends in the news from past few days but we all know that when the FIFA World Cup 2022 will start then all the noises will take backstage and everyone in the World will discuss about there favorite team and player.

Some big names are missing this FIFA World Cup either because of injury or form or because of their country was not able to qualify for the marquee event. 32 countries participating in this edition of FIFA World Cup. As always we have some teams who have won this coveted trophy at least once and some teams who are competing for their first title.

32 teams have been divided into 8 groups of 4 teams each. 2 teams from each group will qualify for Round of 16. So, without wasting much time we will start with our prediction. We will predict 16 teams who have better chances of qualifying for the next round. Some groups are considered as Group of Death, so we have predicted the 3rd wild card team that may qualify for the next round if they play well and things go in their favor.

Group A

Teams : Qatar, Ecuador, Senegal, Netherlands

Top 2 : Netherlands, Senegal

Qatar will face Ecuador in FIFA World Cup 2022 opener. Qatar is the host of this World Cup. Their football has levelled up in recent times. Ecuador is well known country for any of those who follows the World Football. But these 2 teams can only qualify for next round if the other 2 teams will not play as expected.

Senegal is African champions and their players play in top European leagues. Sadio Mane will be missing this FIFA World Cup 2022 due to injury which is a huge blow for them. Despite this fact, Senegal still have quality in their group to qualify for next round. 

Netherlands will be the toughest team to beat in this group. The Dutch would want to go deep in the tournament and for that they would want to make a statement by winning all games of their group.

Group B

Teams : England, Iran, USA, Wales

Top 2 : England, USA

Wild Card : Iran

England is by far the best team in Group B. They have a squad in which most of the players are match winners. This is the quality which very few teams boast in this World Cup. USA have their own league and many talented players come and play in European Leagues as well. USA wants to prove their mettle in the Football World Cup also and this edition could be their to show that they have the talent in their ranks and they can perform better as group.

Iran is one of the most consistent team from Asia. Their FIFA ranking is a proof of that. They have done well in the past as well. If USA was not able to matchup from the expectations then Iran has the best chance to qualify for next round as their defense is strong. Wales on the other hand, qualified for the World Cup after a very long time. They would definitely want to make the best of the moment but other teams in this group has better chances of qualifying for the knockout stages.

Group C

Teams : Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Poland

Top 2 : Argentina, Mexico

Lionel Messi. In this world, if one has any interest in Football then this name they would have heard for sure. Argentina have won the Copa America and Finalissima recently and that shows the depth and quality of this group. They are the serious contenders to lift the trophy this time.

Mexico has always done well in World Cup. Whenever Mexico plays in the World Cup, they always punch above their weight. After Argentina Mexico has the best chance of qualifying for the next round.

Poland has Robert Lewandowski in their squad. We will see the Messi vs Lewandowski when Argentina and Poland will face each other. But if you look the overall depth of the team then it lacks the quality except 4-5 players. Saudi Arabia has a strong squad but will fight against Poland for the third spot in the group.

Group D

Teams : France, Australia, Denmark, Tunisia

Top 2 : France, Denmark

Wild Card : Australia

France would want to do well in this World Cup as they are defending champions, and show the world that Nations League performance was one off tournament for the team. Players like Mbappe, Giroud, Griezmann, Benzema are threat that any team can be proud of. All these players can score from any dangerous position. France will win all the matches of this group and if they not then they will be unhappy.

Denmark has one of the best playmakers in this World Cup and these players can create chances for their forwards. The depth and quality of squad is extremely good. Their players play in top European Leagues as well. 

Tunisia will look to perform well and enjoy the game to the fullest, not only as a team but also as a nation. Australia was one of the last teams that qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2022. They have done well in the past but this current pool of players will need to focus on the process and do well in the biggest stage of the Football.

Group E

Teams : Spain, Costa Rica, Germany, Japan

Top 2 : Spain, Germany

Spain and Germany are two favorites to qualify for next round. If they don't then it will be loss for them and will shake the entire system in their respective country. Almost all the players from Spain and Germany teams, play in the top leagues of the World.

Costa Rica and Japan have done well on the biggest stage of the football but this group has 2 heavyweights which makes it difficult for any of them to progress to knockouts.

Group F

Teams : Belgium, Canada, Morocco, Croatia

Top 2 : Belgium, Croatia

Belgium have underperformed in the World Cups so far. Their team was ranked number 1 for quite a long time but they were not able to win anything specific as a team. They have the everything that you can think of to win trophies, such as quality, skills, depth etc. But somehow they always find a way to not win the knockout match.

Croatia were the runners-up in the last edition of the FIFA World Cup. They have enough quality in their squad to complete the first huddle. Canada and Morocco qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2022 because they have performed well in the qualification rounds. They may not qualify for the next round but they are in the top 32 teams in the world right now which itself is a big achievement for all the teams.

Group G

Teams : Brazil, Serbia, Switzerland, Cameroon

Top 2 : Brazil, Switzerland

Wild Card : Serbia

Brazil will win all the matches of this group because of the depth in defense, playmaking and attacking departments of the squad. This may be the last World Cup for some players of this squad and they would want to say Good Bye to their career by winning the World Cup this time.

Switzerland have always done well in the big tournaments. They have the stubbornness which makes them difficult to beat. Serbia football team is in the top form in recent times. If they continue that same form in this World Cup then they could be the Wild Card entry for Knockout stages. Cameroon is a strong team and would have loved to be in some other group to qualify for the next round.

Group H

Teams : Portugal, Ghana, Uruguay, South Korea

Top 2 : Portugal, Uruguay

Wild Card : Ghana

Christiano Ronaldo. This is going to be the final World Cup for CR7 and he would want to win this ultimate prize. He has done everything that a player can ever dream of. He has the squad this time which is not dependent on Ronaldo to score for the team. This group is not easy but they would qualify for next round if they play to their own standards.

Uruguay has some extra ordinary players who can single handedly change the complexion of the match. They would want to do well against Ghana and South Korea to qualify for the next round. Ghana is Wild Card for me in this group. If Ghana does well against Uruguay then they have the chance to qualify for the next round. South Korea is one of the strong team from Asia but they may not qualify for the next round in this edition of the FIFA World Cup.
