ISL : Football season begins from today, matches will be held behind closed doors in Goa
The 7th season of the Indian Super League (ISL) is starting today (Friday). The teams of ATK Mohun Bagan and Kerala Blasters will go face to face in the inaugural match at Bambolim in Goa without an audience. A total of 11 teams will compete in the tournament.
Kibu Vikuna, who coached Mohun Bagan last season, gave him the I League title and now he is the coach of the Kerala Blasters team. ATK Mohun Bagan head coach Antonio Lopez Habas warned him that the Indian Super League (ISL) is a completely different tournament.
Vikuna's first challenge will be from his former team, which will be in a completely new avatar as Mohun Bagan and three-time ISL champion ATK have merged.
Habas, the most successful ISL coach, said before the opening match, 'Kibu Vikuna did a good job at Mohun Bagan, but this year it's a different tournament and a different season.'
