Bengaluru FC take on FC Goa in Fatorda Stadium Goa, in their opening game of the season. Both the teams are heavyweights in the league. FC Goa was on top of the table in last year's league. Bengaluru FC won the league in 2018. Both the teams started cautiously. In the first 20 minutes, none of the team were able to penetrate the defence of opposition.

First Half : Bengaluru FC draw first blood

Second Half : Bengaluru double the lead, Angulo hit 2 goals in 3 minutes

FC Goa realised that their current combination of players are not being to break the defence line of Benagaluru FC. They bring Brandon Fernandes in the second half as substitute. FC Goa was looking to equalize on their home turf but it was Bengaluru again that took advantage of sthattered defence of FC Goa. FC Goa responded beautifully after the second goal. Brandon's through ball find the FC Goa striker Igor Angulo, who beat Gurpreet Singh Sandhu to make it 2-1. Three minutes later, FC Goa started the attack and the cross from winger beat Sandhu on the near post and a simple chest tap in from Igor Angulo brought FC Goa back on level terms. 2-2 it was.
